The definition of ecotourism adopted by Ecotourism Australia is:

“Ecotourism is ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation”.

We aim to provide  travllers of all budget types access to clear, honest information regarding tours, accommodation and activities that have been eco-tourism certified. As education on environmental issues is becoming common place, we here at Backpacker Eco Guide believe that if a more sustainable, environmentally friendly and financially feasable option is available, people will choose it.
